Growing up in the British countryside sparked my fascination with the Earth’s treasures early on. On family holidays as a small child I was filling my pockets with pebbles and asking endless questions about how they had formed. This natural curiosity led me down a path that would eventually combine my love for Earth science with education.

Early Memories
My mother, a geographer, made sure to point out the Earth’s natural features to me, and family holidays were often to see geological features and areas of natural beauty across the British Isles and Ireland.
Young Emily found these wild landscapes captivating, and I soaked up information on local geology, geography and archaeology. Many happy hours of my childhood were spent collecting rocks and minerals. As many children on similar paths do, I felt connected to the Earth long before I was formally baptised as a Geologist by my education.
The Academic Journey
My passion for geology continued to grow throughout my education, leading me to pursue a degree in Geology. The journey wasn’t just about grades – it was about uncovering the Earth’s processes and the fascinating stories locked within.
During my studies, I found myself constantly amazed by how geological concepts connected to real-world crystal formations and landscapes.

The Crystal Connection
My journey took an unexpected turn when I entered the crystal wholesale industry. Here, I found myself bridging two worlds: the scientific rigour of geology and the vibrant crystal healing community. I noticed something striking: there was a significant gap between academic geological knowledge and the practical information needed by crystal practitioners and sellers.
This observation sparked what would become Crystal Case Studies.
